How it works
Your players are distributed evenly across the teams you choose. If the count does not divide perfectly, the leftover players are listed as substitutes so every squad stays fair and no one is dropped. The generator produces a full round robin: every team plays every other team exactly once. That makes it the fairest format for a league — the best team wins over many matches, unlike single elimination where one loss knocks you out on a bad day. Fixtures come from the classic circle method: one team stays anchored while the others rotate around it each round. This guarantees every pairing appears exactly once and no team plays twice in the same round; with an odd number of teams, the empty slot becomes an automatic BYE. Standings follow the standard convention: win = 3 pts, draw = 1 pt, loss = 0 pts. The winner is the team with the most points, with head-to-head result and then point difference as tiebreakers.
Frequently asked questions
How is the winner decided?
Every fixture is played and recorded as a win (3 pts), draw (1 pt), or loss (0 pts). The champion is the team with the most points when all rounds finish. If two teams tie, the head-to-head result between them breaks the tie first; if still level, the better point difference (points scored minus conceded) decides.
What happens with an odd number of teams?
An odd field adds an automatic BYE to the rotation. In each round, the team paired against the BYE simply sits out that round — nobody ever plays twice in the same round, and everyone receives exactly one bye across the schedule.
Should I run a round robin or a knockout bracket?
A round robin needs more matches but crowns the consistently best team, since one bad game cannot eliminate a strong side. A knockout finishes faster but is harsher: a single loss ends a team’s run. Choose round robin for leagues and leagues-style events, knockouts when time is short.
Can I add match times or courts?
This version orders fixtures only. Assign times or courts yourself by working top-to-bottom through each round — the first pair listed can be match 1 on court 1, the next pair match 2, and so on, keeping play evenly spaced across the round.
